The total price of this nucleus colony is $200, with a $50 deposit required to reserve your order. The remaining $150 balance is due at pickup.

Local delivery within the surrounding area is available for an additional $2.50 per mile.

Overwintered Nucleus Colony
Available beginning April 15.
These colonies have successfully wintered and are typically stronger early in the season, allowing for faster buildup and earlier honey production.

Nucleus Colony with a 2026 Queen
Available May 1–15, depending on mating conditions.
These colonies feature a newly mated 2026 queen, offering fresh genetics and strong long-term productivity for the season ahead.

Early-season nucs are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and availability is limited.

Colony Composition & Growth Expectations

Each nucleus colony consists of 3–4 frames of brood and 1–2 resource frames, providing a solid foundation for rapid spring expansion. Colonies should be transferred into a full single box within approximately one week of pickup to ensure adequate space and reduce the risk of swarming.
